General Information

The annual SIPES Convention offers a great opportunity to connect and reconnect with like-minded people. Who are these like-minded people? They are your peers – independent prospect generators, geological, geophysical, and engineering consultants; and some are investors. The convention is centered around two mornings of technical talks, followed by interesting and fun activities focusing on the uniqueness of the area. The technical talks can be used to satisfy Continuing Education requirements, including an ethics talk. The talks provide technological updates and news of innovations and solutions to interpretation, sales, and production problems of the independent community. The technical talks are of a more intimate nature than are those of large conventions. There is ample time for questions and explanations during the technical sessions and during networking events. The convention is usually held in the first half of the year in a tourist-friendly venue. There are optional tours offered for your ‘significant other’!

Convention Sponsorship

Becoming a convention advertiser or sponsor is a great way to get the news of your
organization out to the larger community. If you have a drilling opportunity that needs investors,
45% of SIPES members have other SIPES members as participants or investors in their projects.

As a consultant, service provider, or a generator, the SIPES group is active in at least 25 states and 3 countries! This is a way to attract customers, find a gig for your particular expertise, or let others know you are available to help them meet their goals.

Nearly half of the membership is responsible for recommending or approving all types
of services related to project development, drilling, completing, and producing wells.

SIPES members are responsible for drilling and supervising over 2,000 wells in a year for over
2,000,000 feet of hole. That is a lot of service to recommend and approve! The wells drilled range from
less than 2,000 feet to over 20,000 feet measured depth.

By advertising or sponsoring at the convention, your organization is exposed to over 700 movers and shakers
in the energy and related industries. It is a great return on your investment!
